BARRY AIRS ITS FINAL EPISODE.
And just like that Barry is done! With maybe (probably) my favorite episode of the entire series…I’ve been waiting months to talk about it with everyone I know who watches so it’s been very fun to finally get to do so.
I started working on Barry the week I moved to LA more than 6 years ago and while it’s wild as hell and kind of discombobulating to have it be no longer, I feel so grateful to have had the life-changing experience of working on such an increasingly incredible work of art with some of the most brilliant, hilarious, thoughtful, and kind people I’ve ever had the good fortune to work with. Not to get all emotional on main here, as the children like to say, but I have experienced more loss in my life since I started Barry than I ever could have previously imagined, and I can’t overstate how much of a life raft the experience of working on it throughout these last few years has been for me at times. I can’t believe this was my first tv series I ever scored and that it came into my life when it did, it feels like a bar was immediately established that will be damn near impossible to ever top.
Ok, Godspeed Barry Berkman and the rest of the amazing weirdos we got to watch fuck up over and over in the most funny, tragic and human ways. It’s the absolute definition of bittersweet to say goodbye to this show but I couldn’t imagine ever going out on a higher note.
